The Planes distribution network is an integrated group of van line affiliates and local distribution companies equipped with warehouses, local delivery trucks with lift-gates, and specialized on-board equipment to assure every delivery circumstance can be accommodated. The delivery crews are professional experts that effectively represent our customers to their customers by providing face-to-face service execution. These moments-of-truth provide an opportunity for customized services to meet the unique requirements encountered on-site.

Planes Logistics has developed an integrated network of warehouse service providers, many affiliated with United Van Lines, to provide its customers a variable cost warehouse solution for a variety of services. The warehouse network is integrated together seamless under a single computer technology so there is one master product record and customers have visibility to product and transaction level information.

return Order Fulfillment

Planes Logistics will use its worldwide warehouse network to provide decentralized order management and fulfillment under centralized technology and process control. Products are pulled from inventory, packaged as necessary, audited, and shipped using a Planes’ carrier or a customer designated carrier. A variety of other product services are provided depending on the customer’s requirement before shipment.

return Assembly, Installation, or Other Product Services

Planes Logistics has the national resources to provide a wide variety of value-adding product services, site installation, and mechanical assembly as required by the customer.

return Light Assembly or Simple Installation:

If the product being picked up or delivered requires light assembly or simple installation using hand tools or small power tools and the work will take less than 60 minutes, the delivery crew will provide the service in conjunction while on the customer’s site. For larger requirements, additional crew members can be provided in any quantity and the time period can be extended for any length of time with proper notice and planning.

  • Product configuration – integrating multiple finished products into a higher level product on a plug and play basis.
  • Assembly – attach multiple pieces together build a final product using hardware or simply by placing shelves in place, adjusting leveling legs, etc.
  • Hanging posters, pictures, or signage

return Technical Installation:

If the product is more complicated or the installation is part of an overall project, such as a new facility opening or renovation, Planes Logistics has technical resources that specialize in these areas. Planes Logistics assigns working project managers that run the labor crews and conduct installation work themselves. No project is too large or complicated.

  • Wall cleating, any material, to attach items as necessary
  • Security cleat installation for artwork and mirrors
  • Anchoring to floors, concrete, wood, or any material, to secure safes, ATMS, or other products requiring immobility
  • Placing and/or assembling furniture, lamps with shades, etc.
  • Light construction including trim work, flashing, signage, etc.

When the installation requirement involves trade work, such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry, Planes Logistics will contract one of several qualified national partners to execute that work in conjunction with the project and Planes core logistics service.
